Test the direction
Pilot
One-off£150–£400
What's included
- A short questionnaire
- An agreed direction
- A few finished images of your product, retouched and checked
- Revisions until you're happy
At Bilder Studio, I price AI product photography by the work involved in each project, rather than a fixed rate per image. A Pilot costs £150–£400 and gives you a few finished images to see how the creative direction works for your brand. A Full Project starts at £750, with full commercial rights included.

We start with a free 30-minute discovery call to talk through your brand, ideas and what you need. There's no obligation to book. From there, you can begin with a Pilot test project or go straight to a Full Project.

Prices exclude VAT where it applies. Both depend on the effort the work takes, which is why a Pilot is a range and a Full Project has a starting price. I quote once I understand the project properly.
Every project is priced on the effort it takes. I work to a day rate, so the quote follows the time the work needs: building the direction, developing the images, the revisions and the finishing.
A good part of the work goes into building your world and getting my tools familiar with your product before the volume of images starts. Once that exists, each new image comes much faster, and you have a base to make future imagery from.
A Pilot proves the direction on your own product and shows me how complex the work will be, so I can quote the Full Project accurately. That groundwork carries straight into the project.
My HYDRA skincare concept shows how a complete image set comes together: five connected frames, from a clean product image to close-ups of serum on skin. It's a self-initiated project, showing my approach to creating a consistent campaign around one product. Explore what I create for beauty, fashion, lifestyle and jewellery brands.
A lot of AI product photography is sold by the image or in fixed packages: your product placed on a new background or into a scene, in volume, for product pages and marketplaces. That is a useful service for a large catalogue. If you need hundreds of listing images at a per-image price, it will suit you better than I will.
What I make is different work. Most of the effort sits in the direction: deciding what the images should feel like, building the world around your product, choosing the right frame from many that are nearly right, and the finishing that stops an image looking generated. Holding that look from the first image to the last is the craft a set depends on, so I price the work rather than the image count.

|---|---|---|
| How it's priced | Per image or per product | By the effort the project takes, at a day rate |

| Best for | Large catalogues and marketplace listings | Launches, campaigns and hero imagery |
A traditional beauty or fragrance shoot is priced by the day, and the day is only the start. There is the photographer, the studio, the model, hair and make-up, styling, the set and props, then retouching and usage licensing on top. In my experience a single day in the UK rarely comes in under a few thousand pounds once everything is counted, and I've broken it down line by line in my cost guide.
With AI there is no studio to hire and no crew or casting to book, so the budget goes into direction and finishing instead. Where a photograph is still the right call for what you're making, I'll tell you on the discovery call.
A traditional beauty or fragrance shoot
Add pre-production, travel and usage licensing
for a handful of final images
On the discovery call we talk through your brand, the product, where the images will run and when you need them. Then we agree the scope and the deliverables. There's a short guide to briefing me.
Colour, light, styling and references, built on your existing brand. We agree the direction before I develop the images.
I develop the first version of the images, the V1, from the agreed direction and your product references.
You tell me what's working and what isn't, and I refine the images until you're happy with them.
I colour-grade and retouch every image by hand, and check the product details against your references.
The finished files, in the formats, sizes and crops you need, with full commercial rights.
How long it takes depends on the scope and on how quickly feedback comes back, so we set the dates together at the brief.
AI product photography costs depend on the scope of the project and what's included. At Bilder Studio, a Pilot test project costs £150–£400, and a Full Project starts at £750 with full commercial rights. I price each project based on the work involved in developing, creating and finishing the imagery.
Neither, exactly: I price by the effort the work takes, at a day rate. A project isn't tied to a fixed number of images, because most of the work sits in building the direction and finishing every frame. If you'd like to test the direction first, a Pilot costs £150 to £400.
A few finished images of your product in the direction we agree, retouched and checked, with full commercial rights. It's also where I get my tools familiar with your product, and that groundwork carries straight into the Full Project.
Creative direction and a moodboard, the images the project needs, retouched and checked, files in PNG, JPG, TIFF and WebP at the sizes and crops you need, and full commercial rights. We agree the scope at the brief, and the quote follows from the effort it needs. Revisions are worked through together until you're happy with the result.
No. Full commercial rights transfer to you on delivery, for ads, e-commerce, print, packaging and out-of-home, with no usage windows and no repeat fees. I've written about what you own, and the one caveat worth knowing, in who owns the commercial rights to AI brand imagery.
It comes off the cost of your next project. So the most you risk in finding out whether my direction suits your brand is the price of the test.
It often is, but the more useful question is where the money goes. A traditional shoot is priced by the day, and in my experience a single day in the UK rarely comes in under a few thousand pounds once everything is counted. With AI there is no studio to hire and no crew or casting to book, so the budget goes into direction and finishing instead.
Bring the brief and the date you need the images. I'll tell you honestly whether AI is the right fit, and roughly what it would take.
