What to put in the first message

You do not need a finished brief to start. A few lines is enough. The things that genuinely help me give you a useful answer straight away are: the brand, the product, where the images will run (e-commerce, social, print, out-of-home) and the launch date if there is one. If you already have brand guidelines or past campaigns, mention that too and I will match the world you have built.

If your brand world is not fully defined yet, that is not a problem. Shaping it is part of the work, and we can do that during the brief.

What happens next

I reply within a working day to set up the call. After the call, if we are a fit, you get a first version within 24 hours of the brief being agreed. If we are not a fit, I will say so and, where I can, point you somewhere better. I take three brands at a time, so occasionally the honest answer is a date rather than a yes.
