# AI beauty product photography for *beauty brands*

At Bilder Studio, I create AI beauty product photography for beauty brands, from skincare and fragrance to make-up and haircare. My work includes hero shots, texture and macro, product on skin, still life and campaign worlds, with consistent lighting and styling across the set. I personally retouch and finish every image. A Pilot test project costs £150–£400, and a Full Project starts at £750.

Skincare, fragrance, make-up and haircareMade in Manchester, for brands worldwide

## What I make for beauty brands

Most beauty launches come down to the same few images, made as a single frame or as a set. I've written about [the four shots most beauty brands need](https://bilder-studio.com/journal/beauty-product-photography/) in more detail.

[Typology · Concept study, self-initiated. Not a client](https://bilder-studio.com/work/typology/)

### Hero shots

The product on its own, lit and placed so it reads instantly. It has to survive being 200 pixels wide in a grid, so the silhouette matters more than the detail.

![Charlotte Tilbury concept: macro of a heart-shaped pink blush pressed with the CT monogram, crushed powder around its edge](https://bilder-studio.com/Projects/charlotte-tilbury-concept-heart-blush-macro-monogram.webp?v=5ec2cf26)

[Charlotte Tilbury · Concept campaign, self-initiated. Not a client](https://bilder-studio.com/work/charlotte-tilbury/)

### Texture and macro

The substance itself: serum, cream, powder, balm, lather. This is where desire lives.

![MUSE lipstick on the lips in macro, a magenta shade softly smudged at one corner](https://bilder-studio.com/Projects/muse-lipstick-lips-macro-magenta.webp?v=86e26550)

[MUSE · Own concept brand](https://bilder-studio.com/work/muse/)

### Product on skin

Lips, a cheek, a hand, a swatch. Anatomy and finish have to be right at the same time, across skin tones rather than one.

![Bleu de Chanel concept: the eau de parfum bottle on a reflective surface in blue mist](https://bilder-studio.com/Projects/bleu-de-chanel-concept-bottle-reflective-surface-blue-mist.webp?v=89b0bdb9)

[Bleu de Chanel · Concept campaign, self-initiated. Not a client](https://bilder-studio.com/work/bleu-de-chanel/)

### Set still life

The product in a world of surfaces, light and props that say where it belongs.

![Bleu de Chanel concept: model in a long dark coat walking a wet city street at night under blue light](https://bilder-studio.com/Projects/bleu-de-chanel-concept-model-wet-street-night.webp?v=f9d87d26)

[Bleu de Chanel · Concept campaign, self-initiated. Not a client](https://bilder-studio.com/work/bleu-de-chanel/)

### Campaign worlds

People, place and mood built around one idea, from the moment after spraying a fragrance to a whole bathroom ritual.

Retail partners usually want the hero on a plain ground, to their own spec, and I can make that as part of a set. I don't take on per-image catalogue work.

## How I keep your product accurate

Luxury skincare product photography is judged on small things. AI will happily give you a beautiful image of a product that is subtly not yours: glass that's too heavy, a cream that's too warm, a finish that reads gloss when the product is satin. This is how I guard against that:

I work from your references: clear photographs of the product and its packaging, the artwork, the dimensions and the finish.

Legal and regulatory copy is set from your artwork rather than generated, because it has to be exact and legible.

I define the colour before I develop the imagery, then grade every frame to it, so a shade holds from the hero to the macro.

![The HYDRA hydration serum in a clear glass dropper bottle with a white cap, standing on a pale ground with a long shadow](https://bilder-studio.com/Projects/hydra-hydration-serum-dropper-bottle.webp?v=851a02d3)

HYDRA · Own concept brand

Each new frame is checked against the ones already finished, so [the set keeps one look](https://bilder-studio.com/journal/consistent-brand-look-across-ai-images/).

Before anything is delivered, I check lettering, packaging shape, colour, materials and reflections against your references.

That is the part I do by hand, frame by frame.

## Concept work in skincare, fragrance and make-up

These projects are self-initiated concepts, made to show how I would direct a beauty brand. HYDRA and MUSE are brands I invented. The others use real brand names as concept work: none of those brands is a client or commissioned the images, and no affiliation is implied. Client work can be shared privately where confidentiality allows.

## What to send me

The brief is usually shorter than people expect. Before work starts, I send you a short questionnaire, so the brief is clear.

There's more on this in [how to brief an AI creative director](https://bilder-studio.com/journal/how-to-brief-an-ai-creative-director/).

Example

1.1 · The product, or clear photographs of it from several angles, including the finish.

1.2 · The packaging artwork and the dimensions, so the label and the scale are exact.

1.3 · For fragrance, the bottle and carton, how the glass is coloured, and the note pyramid.

1.4 · Your guidelines if they exist. If they don't, three images you wish were yours.

1.5 · Where the work is going, because a retailer tile and an out-of-home panel are not the same crop.

1.6 · The date you need the images, and the one thing you never want the imagery to say.

## Common questions about AI beauty product photography

Can AI do beauty product photography?

Yes, when someone directs it and finishes it by hand. Most of the images a beauty launch needs, from the hero to product on skin, can be made this way, and glass, liquid and skin are where the direction matters most. What AI can't do is invent accuracy: the product has to be clear in your references before it can be right in the images.

Will the product in the images match my real product?

It has to, and it's the part I check most closely. I work from your photographs, packaging artwork, dimensions and finish, set legal and regulatory copy from your artwork, and check lettering, shape, colour, materials and reflections against your references before anything is delivered.

Can you make the images before my samples arrive?

Often, yes. What I need is an accurate reference of the product: a render, the packaging artwork and dimensions, or clear photographs of a pre-production sample. If the product only exists as an idea, nothing about it can be accurate yet, so we would wait for one of those first.

Can I use AI-generated images in beauty advertising?

Yes. The ASA applies [the same rules to ads made with AI](https://www.asa.org.uk/news/ai-and-deepfakes-four-things-advertisers-need-to-know-before-they-hit-run.html) as to any other ad, so what matters is what the image claims: a visual claim [should not exaggerate](https://www.asa.org.uk/advice-online/cosmetics-the-use-of-production-techniques.html) the effect the product can achieve, and a before-and-after needs genuine photographs behind it. This isn't legal advice, so check claims with whoever signs off your advertising. What you own once the images are delivered is in [my rights article](https://bilder-studio.com/journal/commercial-rights-ai-brand-imagery/).

How much does AI beauty product photography cost?

At Bilder Studio, a Pilot, a small test project, costs £150 to £400, and the fee comes off your next project if you continue. A Full Project starts at £750 with full commercial rights, priced on the effort the work takes. The [pricing page](https://bilder-studio.com/pricing/) explains what each includes and what changes the price, and my guide to [product photography pricing](https://bilder-studio.com/journal/ai-product-photography-beauty-brands/) breaks down what a traditional shoot costs.

Do I need to book a model for beauty product photography?

No. The people in my images are generated rather than photographed, and cast for your brand, so there is no model to book. Skin keeps its texture, pores and natural detail.
